Love Speaks When it Allows Others to be Right

The old saying, “Hind sight is 20/20”, simply means we are better equipped to handle an event after the event has occurred.  Many times we could not see nor understand all that was involved in a decision.  God has placed many wise people in our lives in order to reveal His wisdom in all things.  We chose not to listen nor consider the counsel of others because within ourselves we want to be right.

The blessing in allowing someone else to be right is you get the whole picture. Solomon wrote in Proverbs 1: 5, “A wise person will listen and continue to learn, and an understanding person will gain direction.” You are considered wise when you choose to listen and act upon the counsel God sends.

Love speaks when it chooses to give up its right to be right.  This is empowering and relieving.  You no longer have to carry the burden of having the right answer at all times.

Love speaks when you choose to seek after righteousness rather than pursuing being right in man’s eyes.
We are considered righteous through Christ.  To be righteous is to align your actions and thoughts to walk in the virtues of Christ.  Being right does not always glorify Christ but being righteous seeks to glorify Christ and build His kingdom.

An example of this is you have a right to drink as much alcohol as you want if you are of legal age but the righteous virtues of Christ instructs His followers not to be drunk with wine.

You have the right to use profanity, indulge in sexual immorality and be rude, but the righteous virtues of Christ instruct us to abstain from all manners of evil workings of the flesh.

Love speaks when it trades its rights for the righteousness of Christ.

Love Speaks - Wants the Best for Others

Our chance to make a difference is right now.  Yesterday is gone, we only have right now. Right now to allow love to speak in our actions.  Right now to allow love to speak in our reactions.  Right now to allow love to speak in our plans for the future.  Right now love speaks in its unselfish, wholesome language.

Love is humble and wants the best for those whom it serves.

Arrogance is to possess the qualities of egotistical and hot- headedness.  It wants its way no matter the cost to others.  The prime focus of arrogance is “Me.”

Lesson of humility from the life of Christ:

  •   He came down from heaven’s throne to serve man to the cross

  •  He was born in a manger of hay and straw to identify with man to the cross
  • He worked with His hands to break the curse of labor for man to the cross
  •   He spoke to the heart and circumstances of man to exchange the heart of man to the   cross
  •   He prayed for man and sealed it with His blood on the cross
  • He was beat for man to remove the sting of life’s harshness to the cross
  • He died on the cross for man to pay the penalty for man
  •  He rose in victory for man to attach man back to their rightful place with the father

From glory to the earth’s story Jesus was humble

From the throne to a thorn Jesus was humble

From eternity to time Jesus was humble

Love speaks humility to all it meets.  “How may I serve you?”

Love Speaks - Love Celebrates Other's Accomplishments

Psalms 23:1 reads, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall have no lack.”(AMP) When a Christian believes there is enough of whatever it is they desire from the Lord then and only then will they be free of the green-eyed monster envy.

To envy is to openly and inwardly admit that God is not big enough and doesn’t care enough about you as His child. Envy is cruel and ugly. Once it gets its claws into your thought life, it will not be satisfied until it has consumed you to the point of total submission. One sign of envy is obsessing over something someone else has even when you are not in the presence of the object. Another sign is to think you deserve the object of your obsession more than the person who possesses it does. Such as you think you sing best, wear an outfit best or would treat a person of the opposite sex better. Finally, a sign of envy is procrastination. You rationalize if you had money like someone else you would move forward in the plans, and vision God has given you, or if you had the staff, maybe if you had the creativity of a well-known person, then you could obey God.

Love does not envy. Love does not obsess over what it doesn’t have. To represent the language of Christ in the world you must first know that you have exactly what Christ knows is best for you today. In the model prayer, Jesus taught His disciples to pray and ask God for their daily bread. In common terms that translate to asking God for what was needed for each day rather than worrying about getting things they did not need to accomplish the plan and purposes of their father.

When you obsess over what others have you misuse or mishandle what you have. You find yourself complaining about what you have in light of what you think you need. Everything you need has already been supplied to you for this time in your life. If you perceive something is missing look around and see what you have mishandled or misused.

Love does not envy, love appreciates all God has done for it and what He plans to bring to it at the right time.

Love does not envy, love celebrates the achievements of others.
Love does not envy, love motivates others to use what they have for the glory of God
Love does not envy, love is diligent
Love does not envy, love is purposeful
Love does not envy, love is passionate
Love does not envy, love is patient with God and kind to all.

God is more than enough, and His blessings are always on time.
