“It’s not what
you say, it’s how you say it.” When love
speaks correction it uses a mallet rather than a hammer. It swings words only as hard as needed to
detach the person from the scheme of the enemy.
Love is not rude.
When speaking as
an agent of the Lord you must remember that He is depending on you to be
effective in delivering His message of healing love.
When Jesus spoke
to the woman at the well he did not force himself upon her. His love spoke to her concerning her sexual
immorality so tenderly that she was convinced He had to be the Christ.
When Jesus spoke
to the woman caught in the act of adultery.
His love spoke volumes when He did not accuse her, but offered her
another chance at “life.”
His love spoke to
her accusers when He made the statement “He who is without sin let him cast the
first stone.” His love spoke as He deliberately did not look at their faces but
rather to the ground and continued to write.
When love speaks
to the guilty it lightens the load of shame for the action.
When love speaks
to the innocent it clears the way to a restored name and reputation.
Love speaks with
the thought in mind, “It could have been me, if it wasn’t for the grace of
God.”
Galatians 6:1
reads, “Brothers and sisters, if a person gets trapped by wrongdoing,
those of you who are spiritual should help that person turn away from doing
wrong. Do it in a gentle way. At the same time watch yourself so that you also
are not tempted. (GW)”
Love is
considerate of others emotional well-being.
